GM says Dexos oils can be used in vehicles manufactured by other companies and in pre-2011 GM vehicles. Do not use dexos2 5W30 synthetic blend motor oil in Duramax diesel engines. Dexos2 is designed for use with light duty diesel engines. That is dexos1 which is recommended for gasoline engines.
